My Dorothy Hamill story....

I've always loved Dorthy Hamill, from her cute haircut to her flawless skaing. So, I was excited when I got to meet her 1996 when I won a decorating contest for Bachman's at their Department 56 convention. She was the event's national hostess, being a collector of Department 56 items herself.  I won money and several other prizes, including  porcelain skate ornaments that are signed by Dorothy.
Also pictured with me in the above photo is Paul Bachman, President of Bachmans, Inc. and Countess Jeanne Marie Dickens, from England, widow of Charles Dicken's great, great grandson.
(I think I should have been disqualified for wearing that jacket and jean skirt-what was I thinking?!)

I think you look beautiful! Congratulations (late!) for the win ... sounds like you had some heady competition. Do you have photos of what you did with your houses?

Oooh oooh oooh!
My exquisite bookmark arrived yesterday! It's too pretty to use ... and has its own fringed and embellished carrying case. It's the most elegant bookmark I've ever owned.
Thank you so, so, so very much. It was incredibly sweet and generous of you to send it to me - but it's very appreciated!
