I held our 18 year old dog, Maggie, one last time before taking her to the Vet this morning. Sadly, we had to make the decision to put her to sleep. We feel blessed that she lived longer than most dogs do, and she still acted like a puppy up until a couple of weeks ago.

I'm very sorry about Maggie, I know how hard it is to let them go, Blessings, from a fellow dog lover!

Dearest Nancy ~ I am so sorry. On April 21st ~ we had to do the same thing. It is still very difficult but I have been thinking the easy part about saying good bye to a pet is that there are never any grudges let unsettled ~ it is always pure love.I posted about my dogs last day and our familys good byes to him ~ it is the 2nd post down on my blog. If it is too hard for you to read ~ scroll down to the end ~ the poem may make you feel better.
Lots of Love, Terri

So so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a beloved pet is so shocking and stressful. How fortunate that she was happy until very close to the end - and that she was awake so you could hold her and she knew that she was loved.
