Session One:

July 16 - August 26

Join me for this fun and creative workshop where I will teach you how to sculpt sweet little birds from paperclay and decorate them for different Holidays~Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day and Easter. Whether you’re a beginner who'll be working with paperclay for the first time, or someone who has used this wonderful product before, you'll have fun creating these whimsical feathered friends.

I am a self-taught artist, creating dolls and sculptures for over 30 years, having learned mostly from trial and error. I've developed techniques over the years that I'll be sharing with you. If you’re familiar with my art, you know it always has lots and lots of detail, and I use a combination of mixed media materials that help achieve so many different effects. This fun-filled class will have you soaring high, as I take you through your bird making journey with detailed, step-by-step instructions. From sculpting, painting, making the sweet facial features to dressing and accessorizing them with feathers, glitter and hats for each holiday, you'll learn methods that you'll be able to use over and over again. I’ll give you choices on using everyday items like chopsticks and coat hangers as supplies. I will also guide you through the process and I will be available to answer any questions you have along the way.

If you’re someone who has always wanted to try their hand at paperclay, but have been intimidated by it, this project is the perfect chance to jump in. It’s easy enough for someone who has never done anything like this before, but yet, detailed enough for those who have. You’ll be proud to say you’ve created these four different birds, and they’ll be a treasure that will definitely make your heart sing!
